Job summary

Spacecraft Components Corp. is seeking a Dimensional Inspector I to perform receiving, in‑process, and final mechanical inspections of precision metal components.

You will verify conformance to engineering drawings and customer specs, and log results in ERP and lot tracing systems. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of hands‑on inspection experience, strong measurement skills with calipers and micrometers, and familiarity with GD&T.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational technical training.
• Experience: 1–2 years of hands‑on dimensional inspection in a precision manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense or connector industry preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and basic GD&T symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece, in-process sampling, and final mechanical inspection on precision-machined metal components.
• Inspect external/internal surfaces for burrs, tool marks, plating defects, thread damage, and workmanship.
• Verify calibration status of inspection equipment prior to use.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T callouts.
• Complete detailed Inspection Reports, FAI records, and routing logs.
• Log accepted/rejected material in the ERP/inventory system with full lot traceability.
• Identify, segregate, and tag non-conforming materials and initiate NCRs.
• Maintain clean, organized inspection benches following 6S/FOD rules and PPE protocols.
