Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks an Entry Level Power System Planning Engineer in Florida for a 1-year contract (W-2). Responsibilities include supporting renewable and transmission studies, collecting inputs, and maintaining study progress with internal teams and consultants.

You will learn and apply power system analysis tools (PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, PSLF), assist with basic power flow, voltage, and stability studies, and contribute to model development for solar, wind, and battery projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
Interest in power systems, renewable energy and transmission planning.
Willingness to learn power system analysis tools and modeling techniques.
Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Collect engineering drawings and datasheets for modeling and studies.
Maintain organized project documentation and records.
Track study progress with internal teams and consultants.
Participate in team meetings and discuss with senior engineers.
Assist in preparing basic power flow, voltage, and stability studies.
Learn and apply industry-standard software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, PSLF.
Support development of models for solar, wind, and battery projects.
Monitor interconnection requirements and document impacts.
Contribute to internal tools and processes to improve efficiency.
Prepare draft reports and presentations for review by senior staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
