Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas by car, foot, motorcycle or other methods.
• Responds to questions and requests for service from the public and resolves complaints.
• Performs investigations and takes appropriate action in cases of law violations.
• Preserves law and order and enforces laws; apprehends suspects.
• Obtains and processes evidence; traces persons and vehicles involved in incidents.
• Takes statements, prepares reports, and testifies in court.
