Job summary

The Oro Valley Police Department is seeking entry level police officers to perform patrol duties and assist in protecting life and property within the community. Applicants complete an online application and AZPOST requirements are completed as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, ordinances, and case law governing municipal law enforcement.
• Policy manuals and departmental procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property in assigned patrol area.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and public complaints.
• Arrest suspects and enforce laws, write warrants and orders of protection.
• Prepare reports and gather evidence; assist investigations.
• Maintain safety and order in traffic and public areas.
• Provide first aid and assist injured persons.
• Maintain proficiency with firearms and department equipment.
