Job summary

IES is seeking a Plumbing Installation Technician to assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems on residential or commercial job sites in the greater Columbus, OH area. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with basic construction or plumbing experience who is dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities include assisting with installations, reading basic diagrams, handling materials, and ensuring safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous plumbing, construction, or field experience preferred.
• Plumbing trade school, apprenticeship, certifications, or licenses preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, and construction practices preferred.
• Ability to read basic work instructions, diagrams, and technical documents.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a field team.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional conduct.
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including background and motor vehicle record checks.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English where required to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
• Support jobsite preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and installation activities.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping and plumbing components under supervision.
• Read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, work orders, and job instructions.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, plumbing codes, and quality standards.
• Help track materials, maintain jobsite organization, and complete basic documentation.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, vendors, and customers.
• Participate in training to build plumbing knowledge and field skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
