Job summary

IES invites applications for a Plumbing Apprentice in Cincinnati. This entry-level role assists with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems under supervision, while developing technical skills and field experience on active job sites.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and a willingness to learn. The position requires on-site work with potential overtime and adherence to safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–2 years of field experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents and work instructions.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Safety conscious and able to follow codes and standards.
• English speaking, reading, and writing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
• Support field personnel with jobsite preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and installation activities.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and work orders as assigned.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing piping and plumbing components under supervision.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in safe and organized condition.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, plumbing codes, and operational standards.
• Coordinate with field personnel, supervisors, vendors, and internal departments regarding jobsite needs and project updates.
• Provide professional customer interactions and maintain positive working relationships on jobsites.
• Participate in training and skill development activities to expand plumbing knowledge and field capabilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
