County Materials in Madison, IL is hiring for a Plant Team – Pipe position within our concrete pipe and precast production operations. This entry-level role provides on‑the‑job training for equipment, safety, and production processes as you assist with molds, reinforcement, and materials.

You will perform hands-on plant tasks under experienced team members, supporting continuous production, quality checks, and safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 0–2 years of related manufacturing, production, construction, or plant experience.
• Ability to exercise good judgment around machinery and unloading materials.
• Strong teamwork mindset with flexibility to support production needs.
• Willingness and ability to learn, be trained, and cross-train on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and stage concrete forms and molds before each production cycle.
• Read and follow basic production instructions, layouts, and shop drawings.
• Place and secure steel reinforcement using tie guns, clip guns, or hand wire tools.
• Install concrete accessories such as steps, knockouts, spacers, and inserts.
• Clean forms, tools, molds, and production areas after each cycle.
• Stage materials and components to support continuous concrete production.
• Assemble and position form components according to drawings.
• Operate small forklifts and other material handling equipment after training.
• Apply concrete release oil to molds and components as directed.
• Assist with moving, setting up, and cleaning headers and pallets for pours.
