Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an entry-level General Maintenance helper to support general tasks around the worksite. Under supervision, you will assist with minor preventative maintenance, learn basic job functions, and be evaluated for long-term development within the company.

Responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting basic components, repairs using welding and cutting tools, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Experience in maintenance, preferably around heavy equipment and machines.
Basic understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow safety procedures.
Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals.
Exposure to preventative maintenance processes under supervision.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
Perform structural repairs, hard facing, and replace wear-parts using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
Adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations; execute LOTO protocols and maintain a hazard-free work area.
Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify anomalies and make minor adjustments.
Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records.
