Alabama Power is seeking an entry-level Plant Auxiliary to support operation and maintenance at its power plants. The role involves hands-on work, physical tasks, and the potential to progress through specialist tracks.

Candidates should be able to work rotating shifts, lift heavy equipment, and pass safety tests (POSS and MASS). Starting pay is approximately $26.78/hour plus benefits, with opportunities for raises based on performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of secondary education or technical degree preferred
• 1-2 years of manual labor, construction, maintenance or working on heavy equipment preferred
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license
• Must successfully pass POSS and MASS tests

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation and maintenance of Alabama Power generating plants
• Work rotating shifts and be available for overtime and callouts
• Lift and move heavy-duty tools, equipment and materials safely
• Perform tasks in varying temperatures and heights as required
