City of Corpus Christi—Development Services is seeking an entry-level Plans Examiner I to review plans and blueprints for building permits, ensuring compliance with city codes and zoning ordinances. The role involves processing residential and minor commercial plans with minimal supervision, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and the public to resolve issues.

Ideal candidates will hold an Associate degree or 2-year technical certificate and have at least two years of experience; ICC

Qualificações

• Associates degree (AA/AS) or 2-year technical certificate.
• Two (2) years of experience.

Responsabilidades

• Examines plans and specifications of residential, minor commercial structures, and signs to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
• Communicates with public, architects, engineers, developers, and other professionals to resolve issues or answer questions.
• Processes and provides control of residential and commercial plans and applications per department procedures.
• Reviews plans to ensure construction conforms to the International Building Code and International Residential Code.
