Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, the world’s largest industrial employer in Virginia, seeks Pipe Fitters to install piping systems on submarines and carriers, reading blueprints, fabricating, installing, inspecting, and testing them.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints and fabricates, installs, inspects and tests piping systems.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and pass respirator fit test.
• Must work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble piping systems onboard ship and in shop.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specs.
• Attend Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class and ongoing training.
