Job summary

Heartland Technology Group is seeking an entry-level Physical Security Installer I to support the installation of video surveillance, access control, structured cabling and related low-voltage systems. Under supervision you will read drawings, pull cables, install devices, and ensure safety and quality standards while delivering a positive customer experience.

Frequent travel to customer sites is required. This role provides hands-on training, collaboration with the Foreman and Project Manager,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Able to use basic hand and power tools.
• Strong prioritization skills.
• Team player with professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Install and support video surveillance, access control, and related low-voltage systems under supervision.
• Perform cable pulling, terminations, mounting, device installation, and equipment setup.
• Read project drawings, scopes of work, and installation instructions.
• Maintain compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and codes.
• Troubleshoot basic installation issues and escalate complex ones.
• Coordinate with Foreman, Project Manager, and team to support execution.
• Maintain documentation of time, materials, and work completed.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Demonstrate commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• Continue developing technical knowledge and field installation skills.
• Frequent travel to customer sites; may include daily regional or overnight stays.
• Meet annual billable hour goal as defined by HBS.
