Job summary

Semtech in Alhambra, CA, is seeking a Test Operator 1 to perform tests on III-V photonic wafer products, including DFB lasers and gain chips, following SOPs and ensuring accurate records. This entry-level role works under supervision to verify optical and electrical performance and to sort and bin devices per spec.

You will operate optical and electrical test stations, participate in data recording, and support WIP flow and documentation while learning device characterization and test station

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and test procedures under supervision.
• Willingness to learn electronic/optical measurement concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and precision handling of fragile devices.
• Ability to accurately record and enter data.
• Cleanroom/ESD environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate test equipment under supervision, including optical and electrical test stations.
• Record test results, pass/fail data, and equipment logs accurately.
• Sort and bin devices according to test specifications.
• Elevate out-of-spec results to appropriate staff.
• Maintain clean and organized test area.
• Assist engineering on test station setups and qualification.
