Job summary

Sierra Wireless is seeking an entry-level Test Operator 1 in Alhambra, CA to perform tests on photonic wafer products, including DFB lasers and InP-based devices. You will follow established test procedures, record results, and assist with device sorting and MES documentation under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a controlled cleanroom setting. Onsite role with emphasis on precision, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow SOPs and test procedures under supervision.
• Basic understanding of electronic/optical measurement concepts or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and precision handling of fragile devices.
• Ability to accurately record and enter data.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom or ESD-controlled environment for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate test equipment under supervision (optical/electrical tests).
• Follow SOPs and test specifications.
• Load/unload devices with care to prevent damage.
• Record test results and logs accurately; maintain MES/travelers flow.
• Flag out-of-spec results and escalate to senior staff or engineering.
• Maintain clean, organized test area and support WIP tracking.
