Lake Granbury Medical Center in Granbury, TX is seeking a Financial Counselor I to support patient access and revenue cycle operations. You will verify insurance coverage, secure financial arrangements, and coordinate patient account management with a focus on accurate and timely processing.

The role serves as a key resource for patients, providing financial counseling, assisting applications, and maintaining effective communication with patients, payors, and internal teams to promote resolution

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare registration, billing, collections, or a related field required.
• 2-4 years of experience in financial counseling or insurance verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes payment arrangements with patients per policies.
• Completes and submits financial assistance applications with required documentation.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits; obtains authorizations when applicable.
• Reviews daily reports to ensure accounts have a valid payment source or counseling documentation.
• Responds to patient inquiries about balances and insurance coverage in a timely, professional manner.
• Processes adjustment requests and monitors approved adjustments for accuracy.
• Maintains documentation in the system with proper comments.
• Maintains communication with patients throughout care continuum for financial follow-up.
• Coordinates with departments to resolve account issues and ensure accuracy.
• Retrieves and responds to voicemails from customer service lines for timely follow-up.
