Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination for patients in stable condition. You will support the RN in caring for acutely ill patients and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Under supervision, you will document care in the electronic medical record, adhere to hospital policies, and participate in admissions, discharges and transfers as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, documents and performs direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Participates in safety and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
• Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, weights and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Supports unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
