Job summary

The City of Hurst is seeking an Entry Parks Maintenance Worker (Entry Level) in Hurst, TX to maintain parks, trails, and green spaces. This role involves landscape upkeep, equipment operation, and safety compliance, with a path to Park Maintenance Worker I after probation.

Ideal candidates enjoy outdoor work, teamwork, and flexible weekend hours. The position is full-time and outdoor-based, with onboarding through the Community Services department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous work experience in manual labor activities is preferred.
• Candidate must have a personal electronic device capable of making and receiving phone calls and sending and receiving text messages; City reimburses business usage.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must have regular and punctual attendance, reliable transportation, and flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and essential job function screening.

Responsibilities

• Arrives at work on time prepared to work the assigned schedule.
• Overtime as needed.
• Operates motorized equipment such as tractors with attachments, top dressers, aerators, paint sprayers, and other related maintenance and landscape equipment.
• Perform preventative inspections and maintenance on equipment as assigned; complete reports as required.
• Performs related duties as directed when such duties are logical and appropriate.
• Adheres to City policies and fosters positive employee relations and morale city-wide.
