Job summary

The City of Hurst is seeking an Entry Level Park Maintenance Worker to care for parks, trails, and green spaces. You may support Aquatics, Athletics & Park Maintenance, or Landscape & Irrigation functions as assigned.

Responsibilities include operating maintenance equipment, performing inspections, and keeping facilities safe and presentable for public use. The role requires physical stamina, flexibility for overtime, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous manual labor experience preferred.
• Personal device for calls/texts; reimbursement arranged via hourly rate.
• Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Regular and punctual attendance; overtime/weekend flexibility.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and essential function screening.
• Probationary period completion leads to reclassification.

Responsibilities

• Arrives on time prepared for the scheduled shift.
• Operates tractors and landscape equipment and performs maintenance tasks.
• Inspects and maintains park facilities, restrooms, and playgrounds.
• Cleans, handles trash, and prepares athletic fields as needed.
• Follows safety rules and city policies; interacts professionally with the public.
