Job summary

City of Hurst is seeking a Parks Operations Technician to maintain parks, pavilions, and city facilities. You will lead crews, coordinate inspections, and perform maintenance tasks including equipment operation and special projects. Evening and weekend work may be required, with on-call rotation.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Texas driver’s license; an associate degree and municipal experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • One year of experience in park ground maintenance including playground safety.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Personal device for calls/texts; city reimburses business use.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise crewmembers; assign daily tasks; schedule weekend maintenance.
  • Inspect and maintain parks, playgrounds, and facilities; ensure safety.
  • Perform general maintenance; operate/heavy equipment; repair items as needed.
  • Complete work orders; provide input on hiring and discipline; assist in emergencies.
  • Maintain restrooms and grounds; participate in special projects and programs.
  • Provide on-call services on a rotating basis; coordinate with supervisors.
