Job summary

The City of Santa Cruz is seeking a Parking Facility Maintenance Assistant in the Public Works Department. This entry-level role supports the maintenance of city parking garages, lots, and sidewalks and assists with basic landscaping and minor electrical/plumbing tasks.

Under supervision, you will perform custodial work, operation of hand and power tools, and help identify security concerns; you may contact law enforcement as needed. A California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or tested equivalent.
• Six months of manual labor experience.
• Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains City parking lots, garages and sidewalks using hand and power tools and equipment.
• Cleans and maintains public restrooms in parking garages; performs basic landscaping around parking lots.
• Performs minor electrical, plumbing and equipment maintenance; identifies security concerns and contacts law enforcement as appropriate.
