Job summary

City of Santa Cruz is seeking an entry-level Parking Facility Maintenance Assistant in the Public Works Department. Under supervision, you will clean and maintain city parking lots, garages and sidewalks, perform basic landscaping, and assist with minor electrical and plumbing tasks.

This position is open to City of Santa Cruz regular and temporary employees and offers exposure to custodial and facility maintenance in a urban parking environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or tested equivalent.
• Six (6) months of manual labor experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans public restrooms and maintains parking facilities as assigned.
• Cleans and maintains parking garages, lots and sidewalks; performs minor repairs to fixtures.
• Identifies safety concerns and contacts appropriate authorities.
• Maintains landscaped areas and related tasks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
