Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an entry-level Paralegal to support United States Attorneys under supervision. The role involves drafting and filing legal documents, preparing notices and subpoenas, and assisting with trial preparation and case management within a dynamic federal environment.

Responsibilities include document processing, calendar maintenance, and travel per DOJ policies. A paralegal credential, JD, or law school attendance is required, with prior lit/ESI exposure valued.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
• One year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience is required; trial experience helpful.
• Basic legal knowledge and familiarity with legal citation to cite check motions/memoranda.

Responsibilities

• Collects court ordered restitutions and fines.
• Drafts and files legal documents using ECF.
• Prepares garnishments, liens, and other legal documents for collection.
• Sends demand letters and subpoenas; files liens; runs credit reports.
• Maintains calendar of active cases and schedules appointments.

Paralegal certificate/JD/ABA-accredited law school (one year of study)
