Smurfit Westrock Company in Alabama is seeking reliable team members to join the Paper Mill Paper Machine Department. The role involves assisting in operating the Paper Machine, cutting cores, and supporting winder startup under supervision.

Starting wage is $22.67 per hour with increase to $28.47 after qualification; a drug screen is required after conditional offer. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to work rotating shifts in a heavy industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass company required written test that includes Rules & Gauges, Numerical Ability, Reading, and Bennett Mechanical aptitude testing.

Responsibilities

• Cut paper cores to proper length as per order and plug appropriate ends.
• Remove cores from storage area.
• Assist in startup of winder under instruction of winder machine operator.
• Empty garbage cans and remove wastepaper for proper disposal.
• Assist in cleanup of basement during down time.
• Empty the vacuum deposit system.
