Job summary

Smurfit Westrock’s Longview mill is hiring entry level production operators for pulp, paper or logistics with a twelve-hour rotating shift schedule (four days on, four days off). Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Typical duties include cleaning machines, operating heavy equipment, fetching supplies and upholding safety standards. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, be able to lift 50 lbs and work in noisy environments, with English literacy and pre-employment

Qualifications

• Two years of continuous full-time work experience or post-secondary education in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and overtime.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Pre-employment testing and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Entry level position with training and advancement potential.
• Perform general clean-up of machines and work areas using basic tools.
• Operate powered industrial trucks and heavy equipment.
• Retrieve supplies from various locations and suppliers.
• Maintain all required safety standards.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
