Job summary

Dennis Group in Austin, TX is seeking Packaging Engineers to scope, layout, install, and commission packaging equipment lines for our food and beverage clients. We design, build, and commission facilities, collaborating across process, controls, and building system engineers.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical/packaging/industrial or manufacturing engineering background with 0–3 years of experience. Strong communication and travel readiness are essential for onsite support and coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, packaging, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
• 0-3 years of work experience or schooling in scope, layout, install, and commissioning of packaging equipment lines.
• Experience with professional services, packaging, and food/beverage firms is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving, organizing, and time management skills.
• Must meet travel requirement – 50%+ travel for on-site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Developing design concepts, estimates and functional specifications for packaging lines.
• Interpreting mechanical design requirements to reflect customer specs in the packaging system.
• Specification, purchase, installation and commissioning of packaging equipment.
• On-site construction project coordination and management.
• Machine and process design; prepare testing requirements and procedures.
• Prepare equipment specifications, purchase docs, and facility layouts.
• Create packaging flow diagrams; perform material balance and packaging matrices.
• Assist with equipment bid packages and site surveys.
• Develop AutoCAD layouts and contribute to packaging design principles.
