Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to assist physicians and health teams in procedures and patient care. The role involves preparing patients and equipment, applying casts or braces, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The technician will educate patients, support post-operative exercises, and participate in ongoing performance improvement activities. A HS diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a related role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians, surgeons, and health providers; prepares patient and equipment for examinations or procedures.
• Operates and maintains orthopedic equipment safely according to policies.
• Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces for patients; ensures proper fit and comfort.
• Educates patients about procedures and post-care instructions.
• Demonstrates proper use of braces and splints; assists in discharge and follow-up care.
