Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) invites you to join as an Ophthalmic Assistant. This entry-level role involves assisting physicians, performing testing, and maintaining patient records across our Boston-area locations. Free training is provided with the goal of certification by JCAHPO within 24 months.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, full-time with no nights or weekends, and occasional travel to Waltham as needed. High school diploma required; prior experience is welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required; free training provided.
• 0-1 years ophthalmic assistant experience; we will train.
• 1-2 years in fast-paced environment and customer service.
• Willingness to travel to Boston/Cambridge/Waltham.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in gathering patient data.
• Perform visual acuity and visual field testing.
• Conduct tonometry and refractometry procedures.
• Maintain patient records and clinical environment.
• Travel to Waltham location as needed.
