Job summary

Mittleman Eye Center in West Palm Beach seeks an entry-level ophthalmic technician to join its eye-care team. You will receive intensive hands-on training alongside surgeons and optometrists, assisting with patient prep, tests, and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ophthalmic/Optometric/Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the medical field.
• Willingness to train the right candidate with little to no experience; fast learner with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation and preliminary examinations.
• Perform tests such as visual acuity, refraction, and tonometry.
• Document patient history and test results in EMR.
• Assist with the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
• Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each patient.
• Participate in workstation cleaning, ensuring neatness at day’s end.
• Provide patient education on procedures and post-visit care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Support and process other work as assigned.
