Job summary

Momentive is seeking an Entry Level Operator to support manufacturing process equipment operation and packaging. This non-exempt union role involves assisting more senior operators, with responsibilities that grow as you gain experience.

Position requires a two-year degree in a related field or a HS diploma/GED with chemical industry experience. You must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and pass pre-employment checks. Training and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires at least a two-year degree in a related field or a HS diploma/GED with two years chemical industry or related manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing process equipment and assist with packaging of finished products.
• Work in area operation as assigned, including production support.
• Fill, label, and place waste in identified storage areas and ensure waste handling compliance.
• Maintain safe, audit-ready housekeeping, and participate in safety and reliability programs.
• Follow SOPs, safety, environmental, quality guidelines and plant standards.
• Communicate production, quality, or safety issues to area leadership.
• Assist in area and business improvements and EHS compliance activities.
• Attend leadership and skills training as offered.
• Process batch sheets to support on-time production and proper inventory.
• Perform other duties such as snow removal, LOTO reviews, and night notes review.

Job Title:Entry Level OperatorSummary:Duties of the Chemical Operator position include the operation of manufacturing process equipment, packaging finished products and general labor throughout the facility. This position assists operators and crafts as necessary and assigned, with increasing responsibility for operations and product quality.This is a Union Non-Exempt position. The starting pay rate for this role is $27.22 per hour, plus eligible shift differential pay.Responsibilities Include:Area-specific task requirements as outlined on the job/task qualification documents.Work/train anywhere in the area operation as assigned, including assisting with production.Properly fill, label, and position all hazardous and non-hazardous waste in identified storage/pickup areas.Perform housekeeping to ensure area safety and maintain audit-ready condition.Complete equipment clean-outs/turnarounds as required to ensure proper operation.Follow all standard operation and business procedures, safety, environmental, and quality guidelines, plant standards, and codes of conduct.Communicate with area Leadership regarding any production, product quality, or safety issues as they arise.Participate in area and business improvement activities, quality, mechanical integrity, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities.Knowledgeable of OSHA standards and safe work practices.Attend leadership and skills training courses as offered.Demonstrated ability to drive a forklift truck.Properly operate all equipment according to batch sheets, Part V procedures, SOP’s, Engineering Note and/or Manufacturing InstructionsProperly process all batch sheets to allow for on-time production, quality checks and accurate inventory.Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, snow removal, LOTO activities, and reviewing night notes.Qualifications:The following are required for the roleMust have at least a two-year degree from an accredited college/university in a related field or a high school diploma/GED with at least two years of chemical industry experience and/or experience in other manufacturing, warehousing or industrial environmentsAbility to work continuous shift that requires nights, weekends, and holidaysMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust be 18 years of age or olderMust have unrestricted authorization to work in the United StatesMust be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background investigationEmployees must meet respiratory protection program requirements applicable to area to be eligible for consideration.Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodation.Must have the assets needed to become OSHA certified on the job as required by OSHA 1910.119What We Offer:The base salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.
