Job summary

Momentive is seeking a Process Engineer to own production area performance, resolve daily issues, support operators, and drive continuous improvements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer global process technology and manage NPI/NPT as needed.

The role requires on-site presence five days per week. You will lead safety, quality and reliability initiatives, optimize planning with the SIOP team, and ensure compliance with EHS and regulatory standards while delivering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong safety consciousness, EHS awareness in chemical processing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Experience with process optimization and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with SAP, DCS, and ISO systems is a plus.

Process Engineer

Summary: The Process Engineer owns production area performance, resolves daily issues, supports operators, and drives continuous improvements. Responsibilities include achieving targets in EHS, quality, reliability, productivity, and stable operations while supporting key CapEx and improvement initiatives. This role leads and collaborates with cross‑functional teams and supports the transfer of global process technology and new product introductions through the NPI/NPT process. This position requires on‑site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
  • EHS: Operate as the area lead for strict adherence to EHS regulations and requirements for installation/modification of site facilities and production processes. Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, employees, and the public. Own MOCs for areas of responsibility and adjust safety considerations (SVA’s, PHA’s) in cooperation with EHS. Analyze consequences of safety failures. Ensure compliance with Momentive’s EHS Management System and participate in exposure reduction events.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal standards for occupational, plant safety, environmental, and health protection. Document requirements for areas of responsibility (manufacturing instructions, MOC process, operating manual).
  • Operations: Produce scheduled, quality‑oriented manufacture of all products. Work closely with the SIOP team to optimize planning and achieve schedule targets. Perform troubleshooting for operations related to production, quality, reliability, and emergencies. Monitor performance based on key metrics/KPIs and lead improvement activities. Participate in audits and document follow‑up actions and change controls. Ensure product quality meets QC specifications, lead investigations and non‑conformance reports, and partner with APCs and shift leaders for shift coordination. Accountable for OOS and SMI reduction, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement follow‑ups of unplanned events and near misses.
  • Quality: Provide specific process technology and operation training (e.g., polymerization, main unit/equipment operating fundamentals). Develop SOPs and conduct operator training/qualification. Participate in quality forward‑look events and coordinate actions to improve product quality. Investigate quality incidents and take corrective actions.
  • Process Development / Improvement: Support process development, lead process optimization programs, and apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve quality, safety, cost, and people. Lead or assist in 5S development and sustainability. Research process improvements to optimize yield, minimize waste, increase capacity, and improve plant operations and safety.
  • Communications & Documentation: Implement stringent change and documentation management (MOC) in the operating area. Identify, communicate, and drive implementation of short‑term modification work.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or university degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 6 years of industry experience.
  • Strong safety consciousness, EHS awareness, and familiarity with EHS requirements in a chemical process environment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, including data organization, statistical analysis, and complex process troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of business interrelationships, high awareness of responsibility and costs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; highly motivated and energetic with ownership of the production area.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate teams, drive change, and deliver quantifiable production improvements.
  • Ability to lead, supervise a diverse workforce and contractors.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of DCS.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel). (Preferred)
  • Experience in Six Sigma, SAP, ISO systems is a plus. (Preferred)
  • Practical experience with process optimization and certification as Green Belt (Preferred)
  • Previous engineering experience in chemical process environment including PHAs (Preferred)
  • Experience in a multi‑national chemical company (Preferred)
  • Experience in new production and technical development of new processes (Preferred)
  • Prior experience in maintenance and reliability (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of maintenance workflow, rotating equipment and pressure systems (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $95,500 - $140,250
