Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Tech I - EMG (casual 19 hr. with benefits) to perform EEG, IONM, LTM, EP, and NCV studies. You will explain procedures, gather histories, apply 10/20 scalp electrodes, and adjust protocols based on patient data.

You will monitor data, prepare studies for interpretation, create preliminary impressions, and maintain secure archives, while upholding safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent graduation from a CA AHEP END program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Performs electroneurodiagnostic studies per written protocols.
• Explains procedures to patients and collects medical history from charts.
• Applies standard scalp electrodes using the 10/20 system.
• Adjusts test protocols based on patient history and study results.
• Identifies and corrects electrical and electronic malfunctions.
• Monitors and reviews raw study and video data during procedures.
• Prepares completed studies for interpretation and drafts preliminary impressions.
• Edits and archives neurodiagnostic recordings.
• Conducts routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Sets up and assists with specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Ensures patient safety and infection control.
