Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking Naval Architects to analyze submarine hydrodynamic and hydrostatic performance and support fleet submarines throughout their lifecycle.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, integrate new designs for hydrostatic balance, optimize hydrodynamic performance with advanced tools, and contribute to safe, reliable ship construction and in-service support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture or related field.
• 0–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.

Electric Boat Naval Architects are responsible for submarine hydrodynamic and hydrostatic performance, safe handling of ships and large ship components during new construction, and ongoing support of the submarines across the fleet. Required:

• A Bachelor’s of Science degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Engineering.


• 0- 5 years of post-graduate engineering experience

Preferred:

• A Master's of Science degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Engineering.


• Coursework or previous experience in Naval Architecture or Ocean or Marine Engineering
