Hatch in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a dynamic Junior Mining Engineer to join our Metals group. Reporting to the Metals team, you will support projects globally from our Salt Lake City office.

Qualifications

• Recent or soon-to-be graduates with relevant skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, mining or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4.0.

Responsibilities

• Carry out calculations, simulations and verifications related to mine design.
• Develop mine design for Clients using design software to suit the Client’s needs.
• Review contractor drawings, reports, and documents.
• Guide the Contractor in detailed engineering and purchasing for mining projects.
• Participate in equipment sizing and vendor communications to meet requirements.
• Work with project teams on layouts and equipment selection and operating philosophies.
• Execute technical bid evaluations for equipment and make recommendations.
• Share technology with other mining engineers to ensure knowledge is shared.
• Generate operating manuals, plant startups and commissioning as required.
