Job summary

Kurita America, Inc. seeks a Membrane Lab Technician I to manage daily lab operations, track sales orders for membrane services, and help ensure production requirements are met. Tasks include sample handling, data reporting, and coordination with the team under supervisor guidance.

The role requires 0–2 years of lab exposure and a degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related science. Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to lift 40 pounds are expected.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of lab exposure.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related science or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Log, track, and check in incoming samples and equipment; cut and harvest membrane samples for testing.
  • Collect and draft scientific data reports for manager review; organize digital files, photos, and records.
  • Perform daily tasks and facility upkeep as directed by the Manager.
  • Coordinate with team members on required tasks.
  • Follow SOPs and safety guidelines to ensure proper techniques.
  • Maintain a clean lab environment.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance excluding SEM/EDS.
  • Keep inventory of lab supplies (gloves, reagents, cleaners, hoses, etc.).
  • Assist with membrane dissections and use FT-IR under supervision.
  • Perform membrane/filter/foulant dissections and sampling.
  • Conduct wet chemistry procedures including titration, ion chromatography, and turbidity testing.
  • Assist with laboratory cleaning studies under supervision.
