Job summary

Mercy seeks a compassionate Unit Assistant/Patient Care Associate to support patient care under RN or LPN direction, helping patients achieve their highest wellness. You will join a collaborative team and assist with designated clinical and non-clinical tasks essential to care.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC or enrolled in a healthcare career program or age 18 and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training program.
• Licensure: BLS required within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months.
• Experience: None required.
• Other: 175-hour training program within 90 days of hire to meet state requirements; physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, and ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA.

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN direction to achieve highest level of wellness.
• Work cooperatively with the team and perform clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Provide care and support essential to patient well-being and safety.
• Follow Mercy training and orientation requirements.
