Firestorm is seeking an entry‑level Associate Mechanical Test Technician to join our San Diego headquarters. You’ll work alongside engineers and senior technicians to build, test, and field unmanned aircraft on real hardware, on short timelines, and with hands‑on precision.

This role offers training and growth: assemble airframes, install hardware, run test fixtures, support flight tests, and document results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• U.S. Person as defined by 22 CFR.
• 120.62 required due to ITAR regulations.
• Demonstrated hands-on mechanical experience in relevant environments.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow instructions.
• Proficiency with common hand and power tools.
• Attention to detailed, documented records.

Responsabilités

• Assemble airframes, subassemblies, and hardware per drawings and work instructions.
• Install mechanical hardware and torque to spec with documented values.
• Support composite work including surface prep, bonding, and layup.
• Assist with propulsion and fuel system installation and checks.
• Operate shop equipment safely and maintain tool control and organization.
• Run 3D printers and perform post‑processing on parts.
• Record as‑built configuration, part numbers, and build notes accurately.
• Flag any mismatch and escalate to senior staff when needed.
