Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer I to assist in the design and development of Ground Support Equipment for Flight vehicle operations. You will collaborate with senior engineers on analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, collecting data and preparing technical documentation.

The role emphasizes clear communication, teamwork, and following established procedures to meet project goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Typically, entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.
• Basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.
• Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.
• Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, analysis, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components.
• Collect and analyze data related to mechanical systems and propulsion, structures, or environmental systems.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports communicating findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
• Support development of lift/holding fixtures, shipping containers, production tooling, and transport fixtures.
