This entry-level role focuses on producing tooling and flight hardware within an integrated product team, delivering milestones for both space flight and non-space flight programs. The designer will create part models, assembly layouts, detailed drawings, and BOMs using Creo, while coordinating with manufacturing for DFM and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Entry level designer/drafter applying technical skills to moderate complexity tasks.
• Experience producing part models, assemblies, and drawings using Creo.
• Familiar with manufacturability considerations and cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design on multiple projects through all phases of product lifecycle and take direction on tasks from lead project mechanical engineers
• Create part models, assembly layouts, detailed drawings, and bills of materials using Creo for solid modeling and PDMlink for data management
• Requirement implementation and minimizing costs
• Work with manufacturing personnel to assess and implement design for manufacturability (DFM) into design work
• Complete and conduct various program communications such as status reports, meetings, and peer reviews
• Execute engineering design changes for part and assembly drawings
• Actively participating in project scheduling and budgeting
• Validate concepts through engineering models and prototypes
• Interact and coordinate with all engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive design, engineering, and specification packages
