Job summary

Conagra Brands in Macon, Missouri is seeking an entry-level mechanic for the 3rd shift (10:00 PM–7:00 AM). You will troubleshoot, repair, and test plant equipment, keep machinery in good working order, and perform electrical and pneumatic work as needed on production lines.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of progressive mechanic experience in manufacturing, vocational tech training, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, basic math, and English literacy.

• Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and adjust to ensure production.
• Use manuals and parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant and production equipment.
• Use hand and power tools to service plant and production equipment.
• Perform electrical and pneumatic work on production machines; welding, electrical and fabrication experience is preferred.

Shift: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM • Hourly rate: $22.17

Position Overview

Entry level mechanic on 3rd shift at Conagra Brands, Macon, Missouri. Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on site.

Position Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, and test parts and components on plant and production equipment.
• Keep mechanical equipment in good condition and working order.
• Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure production operation.
• Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, and parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant and production equipment.
• Use hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, and test parts/equipment on plant and production equipment.
• Perform electrical and pneumatic work on production machines; welding, electrical and fabrication experience is preferred.

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of progressive mechanic experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Vocational tech training in machine maintenance.
• Carry and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Read and write English for completion of production/quality documents.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages).
• Familiar with and able to use basic shop equipment, electric arc welder, plasma cutter, torch, and basic hand tools.
• Electrical experience.

Location: Macon, Missouri. Anticipated close date: July 27, 2026.
