Job summary

Goodwill’s Delano store seeks a Material Handler I - PM to receive donations, transport, sort, and display merchandise. You will help meet organizational goals while upholding our mission and values. The role requires basic reading/writing, a cooperative attitude, and physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Excellent teamwork and customer service experience are a plus as you work with management and staff to maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Minimal ability to read and write. Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• Language Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, employees, clients, customers.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Effective interpersonal and communications skills to interact with all levels of staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening activities for trucks and donation drives.
• Move and display merchandise; lift up to 70 pounds.
• Tag textiles, price wares, and stock the sales floor.
• Receive and process donations; issue receipts.
• Maintain cleanliness of donation area and store interiors.
• Collaborate with coworkers and cover breaks as needed.
• Prepare salvage items and wrap bulky furniture for transport.
• Assist pricing and merchandising according to policies.
• Close activities including truck doors and floor recovery.
