Job summary

Southern Valve Service seeks an entry-level Manual Machinist Level 1 to assist with and perform basic manual machining operations under supervision. You will learn on lathes, knee mills, and other equipment while working on industrial valve components.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of manual machining experience, and vocational training is preferred. The role requires safety awareness and ability to stand for long periods, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of manual machining experience
• Trade school, vocational training, or related shop experience preferred
• Experience in valve repair, industrial repair, or job-shop machining is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deburring, cleaning, polishing, and preparing valve components
• Assisting senior machinists with setups and part handling
• Performing basic facing, drilling, tapping, boring, and milling operations
• Learning to machine parts while maintaining required tolerances
• Supporting repair work on valve bodies, bonnets, discs, seats, stems, and related components
