Job summary

Vanderlande Logistics LLC in Los Angeles is seeking an entry level Jr. Tech (Maintenance Mechanic I) to support the Baggage Handling System and related components at LAX.

This role requires basic mechanical and electrical aptitude and a willingness to learn on the job. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and tests, produce safety and maintenance reports, and adapt schedules under supervision.

Qualifications

• Up to two years of relevant experience.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical skills and some experience required.
• Maintenance workflow training (scheduling, PM tasking, work order creation), adhering to safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Basic skills involving organization, management, communication, computer, math, and reading schematics.
• Driving license with clean MVR is highly desirable.
• Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings per airport requirements.
• The ability to work varying 24 x 7 shifts and Holiday as determined by management.

Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance, repair, troubleshoot, and test of the Baggage Handling System and its associated components.
• Provide accurate and timely written reports on safety, and operational and maintenance issues.
• Interpret data and suggest maintenance schedule/activity adjustments to the Manager.
• Ensure all Preventative and Predictive Maintenance practices and procedures are followed.
• General cleanup of work areas.
• Lifting (50-100 pounds), bending, reaching, climbing, walking, crawling, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, speaking, sight, and/or hearing to complete the job duties.
