PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Machinist to operate manual and CNC machines, reading blueprints and inspecting to produce precision parts. You’ll learn machining techniques, blueprint reading, and quality control while upholding safety and high standards.

Location: Florence, AL; Pay rate: $33.35/hour; Schedule: 2nd shift, 2pm to 10:30pm. No extensive experience required—mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are key. Great opportunity to grow in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, drills and grinders.
• Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings and work instructions.
• Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Load materials and assist with basic machine setups.
• Monitor machine operations and make minor adjustments as needed.
• Assist experienced machinists with tool changes, setups and troubleshooting.
• Maintain production records and report defects or equipment issues.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE in a clean 5S workspace.

THE ROLE & YOUR IMPACT

As a Machinist, you'll operate and assist with manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision metal and plastic components. Working alongside experienced machinists, you'll learn machining techniques, blueprint reading, and quality inspection while helping maintain high standards for safety and product quality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, drills, and grinders.
• Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
