Job summary
TEKsystems is seeking an Entry-Level Low Voltage Technician for a contract-to-hire role based in Alcoa, TN. You will assist with installation, testing, and servicing of life-safety, security, and communication systems, learning from experienced technicians on projects like fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and nurse call.
You will pull and terminate CAT5e/CAT6 cables, test systems, and help with documentation while maintaining safe, organized worksites.
Qualifications
- Coachable and quick to learn on-site
- Basic understanding of CAT5e/CAT6 cabling and RJ45 terminations
- Familiar with low-voltage systems and basic electrical knowledge
- Willing to travel to customer sites as needed
- Experience with hand tools, drills, and basic computer software
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of fire alarm, security, access control, CCTV, nurse call, and communication systems.
- Pull, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling.
- Mount cameras, card readers, devices, sensors, panels, and other components.
- Learn basic point-to-point troubleshooting and system testing.
- Read drawings, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and installation docs.
