Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Junior Logistics Specialist to support fleet maintenance and vessel services at Kings Bay, GA. Responsibilities include inventory management, admin tasks, and purchasing for multiple projects, with HazMat support.

Entry-level position requiring strong communication, Microsoft Office skills, and ability to work independently or in a team. Certifications in HAZMAT Shipper and forklift are required. Clean background and drug screen are prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete company-provided HAZMAT Shipper’s Certification Course.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete company-provided fork truck certifications.
• Must have general understanding of U.S. Navy organizations, functional missions, environment, and programs.
• Clean background and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Inventory - Assist in maintaining multiple inventories designated for specific projects.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving of inventories, ensuring no interruption in project timelines.
• Admin - Assist in special projects and programmatic assignments, covering a wide variety of subjects.
• Review, edit, and process memoranda, technical documents, and other communications, maintaining confidentiality.
• Compile financial information to be used in the formulation of budget proposals.
• Maintain department files and catalog statistical data for reports.
• Purchasing - Perform Product Research, Purchasing, Tracking, Receiving, Staging, and Re-crating parts for task orders.
• Assist in procurement activities ensuring compliance with purchasing practices and draft vendor solicitations.
