Job summary

Emerald Coast Utilities Authority in Pensacola, FL seeks an entry-level Lift Station Mechanic Trainee. The selected candidate will start at the beginning of the pay range ($18.63 per hour) and will be oriented by a journey-level Lift Station Mechanic.

Two-person teams report to a Lead Lift Station Mechanic, with planning by the Manager of Lift Stations and Generators. Responsibilities include inspections, maintenance and repair of lift stations and related equipment, basic troubleshooting, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training desirable.
One year of experience in a mechanical field, preferably in wastewater.
Must work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and weather events.
Testing for reading comprehension and basic math will be administered.
Good attendance record required.

Responsibilities

Assist in inspections, maintenance, cleaning and repair of lift stations and related equipment.
Assist in basic troubleshooting of pumps and treatment equipment.
Operate and assist with pumps, generators, and lifting equipment.
Respond to emergencies and after-hours calls as needed.
Ensure parts and supplies are stocked and equipment is kept in good order.
Work in rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
