Job summary

Collier County Government is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to perform a wide range of landscape tasks across county properties. The role involves mowing, edging, planting, watering, weeding, trimming trees and shrubs, mulching, and general grounds care to keep parks, rights-of-way, and facilities looking their best.

The position requires basic fitness and the ability to operate a variety of landscaping equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two months related experience preferred.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Performs grounds maintenance tasks: mows grass, edges, plants, waters, weeds, trims, and maintains landscaped areas.
• Maintains parks, athletic fields, and recreational facilities, including painting lines and repairing equipment as needed.
• Operates machinery and tools, inspects and maintains equipment, and reports faults.
• Transports equipment and materials to and from worksites and monitors safety procedures.
• Monitors inventory of supplies and ensures tools and materials are available for projects.
