Job summary

Stafford County, VA is seeking a Landfill Maintenance Worker I to perform entry-level, semi-skilled tasks maintaining facilities and equipment at the Regional Landfill and service area.

The role reports to regular supervision with a starting wage of $16.81–$23.12 per hour, and a full range up to $29.42 per hour to support growth and development. Various duties include equipment operation, grounds maintenance, and citizen support.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of manual labor experience.
• Knowledge of landfill operations and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate various equipment and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of landfill equipment and trucks.
• Operate trucks, loading containers, mowers, trimmers, and other landfill machinery.
• Perform custodial tasks and general building/grounds maintenance.
