Job description

Description
Highly automated compound management department utilizing robotic instruments to manage tasks such as adding or removing samples from storage banks. The system uses electronic barcodes for record-keeping and sample preparation tailored to research scientists' experimental needs. Automation accelerates sample delivery and enhances sample consistency in concentration and physical properties across experimental runs, crucial for advancing early drug discovery.

Responsibilities

1. Work cross-functionally to develop a deep understanding of scientific processes and identify bottlenecks that could be improved with automation to increase research velocity.
2. Develop automation protocols to meet research scientists' needs.
3. Maintain instrumentation through routine maintenance and SOPs to minimize downtime.
4. Write and update protocols for automation workflows using robotic-specific software (e.g., Tecan, Beckman Coulter, Agilent Technologies, SPT).
5. Draft, edit, and review SOPs for automated platforms and sample delivery protocols.
6. Promptly enter data to support research scientists.
7. Interpret results, identify anomalies, and provide remedies.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, or similar).
• Experience with robotic liquid handlers from Hamilton, Tecan, Agilent Technologies, or Beckman Coulter.
• Experience in compound management is preferred.
• Ability to work upright, stationary, and stand for typical hours.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in non-traditional environments.
• Proficiency with standard office equipment and technology.
• Potential exposure to hazardous elements in lab environments; PPE required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range is $19.40 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility for benefits depends on job classification and employment length. Benefits may include:
