Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry level Instrumentation and Controls Technician in Idaho Falls. The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent military electronics training to perform calibration, testing, and installation of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation.

You will read blueprints, assemble panels, and use test equipment such as oscilloscopes and data loggers. Shift work may be required to support program needs.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent military service school in electronics or related field.
  • Experience with CCTV, radars, and microwave systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate, test, repair, install, and assist in construction of instrumentation.
  • Build, test, calibrate, and maintain sensors, gauges, and related controls.
  • Read blueprints and circuit diagrams; assemble control panels from schematics.
  • Program signals into test equipment and operate oscilloscopes and data loggers.
  • Perform preventive or corrective maintenance; may require shift overtime.
